On April 22, Dr. Tammy Tan, CEO of HymonBio, was invited to University of Leeds in the UK for visitation and to give a lecture on “Breakthrough and Upgrade of Clinical Liquid Biopsy Technology” to faculty and students at the University of Leeds School of Medicine.
Dr. Tan first introduced circulating tumor cells (CTC) and ctDNA, then explained the great potential of gene methylation detection technology in early screening of malignant tumors and the detection methods and principles of gene methylation, and introduced the related research and application of gene methylation in colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, bladder cancer and other cancers.
Subsequently, Dr. Tan provided a detailed explanation of the advantages and related research of liquid biopsy in malignant tumor screening, and presented the latest research results of HymonBio in the field of early screening.
During the free discussion session, the attending teachers and students had a thorough exchange on the current problems and challenges faced by clinical liquid biopsy technology, as well as its clinical application in tumor diagnosis and prognosis. The lecture was successfully concluded through enthusiastic communication and interaction.
After the lecture, Dr. Tan visited professors from the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds, as well as the head of international development and academic cooperation at the university. Dr. Tan Miao has a deep understanding of the school’s professional characteristics and the quality of talent cultivation. Both sides discussed joint talent training, school enterprise visits, and cooperation projects.
In the future, both parties will further refine their cooperation plans and jointly promote the implementation of cooperation projects to achieve deeper integration of industry and education between China and foreign countries.
